Tiffany was 26 years old with a 7 month old son when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Her treatment included 16 rounds of chemo, the removal of some lymph nodes, and 6 weeks of radiation. During that time, Tiffany’s husband was their son’s primary caretaker. “I felt that my cancer had harmed our relationship”, Tiffany says.
In January of 2019 after feeling alone and stuck for several years, Tiffany decided that she was ready “to begin healing” so she registered for the Image Reborn Mothers with Dependent Children Retreat. Four months later, she attended her retreat and began to move forward thanks to her newfound sense of community. “I felt like I was no longer alone. I got the confirmation that others were feeling the same way and that we can be in that and feel that together.”
Here we are 3 years later and Tiffany is an active part of our community- volunteering, dancing with her friends, and smiling. Most importantly, Tiffany’s relationship with her son has really flourished! She says, “I feel like my healing and mental health has really been key as well and I have Image Reborn to thank for that.”
Like many of you… Her son “really is the one thing that gave me strength to get through everything with my cancer. Before him, I am not sure if/how hard I would have fought, but he gave me a reason to get up every day, put one foot in front of the other, and keep doing it- no matter how hard it got”.
