Press Release: [Utah, April 18, 2024] – Image Reborn Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing no-cost renewal retreats for those diagnosed with breast cancer, is proud to announce its upcoming retreats in Texas for 2024. The retreats will be held on April 26-28 and October 11-13, offering a supportive environment for breast cancer thrivers to heal, connect, and rejuvenate.
Founded in Utah in 1998 by world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Renato Saltz, Image Reborn Foundation has been a beacon of hope for thousands of women, providing them with the opportunity to find solace and support in the face of their diagnosis. With the goal to bridge the gap between medical care and the long-term psychosocial effects of breast cancer, the foundation has expanded its reach beyond Utah, now hosting retreats in Colorado, Texas, and soon, Florida.
“It felt great to be accepted by a community that understood what I had been through and to be pampered at the same time! The place we stayed at was gorgeous, the food was healthy & delicious, and I had acupuncture for the first time in my life! Image Reborn went a long way to make each of us at the retreat feel celebrated and acknowledged. I will fondly remember our weekend for the rest of my life thanks to Image Reborn & Dr. Patel.” Rachel Ford, Breast Cancer Thriver and 2023 Texas Retreat Attendee.
The decision to expand into new states stems from a commitment to better support individuals within their local communities. The success of previous retreats, including the inaugural Texas retreat held last August in Galveston, underscores the importance of providing accessible resources for breast cancer thrivers across the United States.
According to a 2016 study conducted by Kaiser Permanente, women with more social connections have higher breast cancer survival rates. At Image Reborn Foundation, connection is paramount, with attendees citing it as the primary reason for seeking out the retreats, second only to healing, grieving, and relaxation.
The upcoming Texas retreats will be held in partnership with Dr. Shitel Patel, a Houston-based plastic surgeon and owner of Lift Plastic Surgery. The weekend will feature a range of activities aimed at promoting wellness and connection, including yoga, mindfulness sessions, massages, and ample time for participants to bond and support one another.
Thanks to the generous support of the community, these retreats are provided to attendees at no cost, ensuring that all women who need them can participate. Donations to support the Texas retreats can be made at https://imagerebornfoundation.org/donate_texas/.
