Dana Levy
Dana Levy (she/her) has served as executive director of Survivor Wellness since 2023.Â
She is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), a certified Laban Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA), an M.A. in modern dance, and a nidan (2nd degree black belt) in the Japanese martial art of aikido, with 40+ years of experience in the U.S. and Japan in choreography, performance, martial arts, yoga and movement education.
From 2005-2017, Dana directed FURLA yoga, a one-of-a-kind, boutique yoga studio in Aoyama, Tokyo.Â
After relocating to Salt Lake City in 2013, she taught Iyengar-based yoga and trained yoga teachers and yoga therapists in programs at local studios, Salt Lake Community College, the University of Utah and elsewhere.Â
During COVID, Zoom provided a virtual studio and sanctuary for yoga and global embodiment events.
Dana has worked with Huntsman Cancer Institute since 2019 as an adjunct yoga instructor in the Wellness and Integrative Health Center. She is also the co-chair of the Yoga Therapy Special Interest Group for the Academic Consortium for Medicine and Health, and a member of the Society of Integrative Oncology.Â
Dana initially walked into Survivor Wellness to offer yoga and movement classes in October, 2021, and became the program director in 2022 to rebuild the organization post-pandemic.
She is honored to lead this remarkable community-based nonprofit organization, with its rich history of supporting cancer survivors in the Salt Lake Valley and beyond since its founding in 1997 as Cancer Wellness House.
